ITEM OF THE WEEK Nails being hammered into wood, the sound of a saw slicing up lumber, and the crunch of feet underfoot that belong to the foreman. As you hammer in a nail for your carpentry work, you can see those rigid chinos of your foreman, he paused to watch you work before heading on to something else. These boss chinos are made of rigid 13.5 oz Japanese selvage denim, they're stiff, they'll fade, and they'll protect your lower body from harm....for the most part. The shade of blue is replicated from the 1940's when the rich color was desired among trousers and denim alike. This particular pair has a longer rise, it fits higher on the waist, and the seat and thighs are relaxed throughout. It's a straight fit, no tapering here! The best part is that it has a buckleback so you can cinch the back without having to wear a belt and there are even buttons so you can attach some suspenders if you're really feeling that 1940's workman vibe. It has the typical five-pocket styling, four pocket pouches, two on the rear, and two in the front, with a coin pocket. The coin pocket has a button closure to keep your little things safe! The rear pockets also have button flaps in order to keep your essentials in your pants at all times. The pockets are heavy twill (canvas) just like from the 1940's so it gives it an authentic touch. Not only that but it has washer burrs and rivets to complete the look from the rigid chinos of the 1940's era. Instead of a rivet for the main closure, like jeans or a button like other trousers, this has a hook-and-bar closure that's reinforced with a button fly. This ensures a consistent fit through years of wear but the hook-and-bar is far more superior to a regular button. The hook-and-bar closure will never pop off no matter how much strain is put on it, this is so that a single pair of Boss Chinos can last for many years to come! Now that you know, go out and get a pair! Need to scramble for one? Here you go: Rigid Boss Chino |
