ITEM OF THE WEEK Cold wind gnaws at your exposed skin, snow obscures your vision, and you continuously ask yourself why you ever decided to do this. Ice pick digs into the next bit of rock, you immediately look down to make sure that the safety rope is secure, then move onward until the sound of the coming avalanche makes you pale with fear. Any sort of expedition is perilous and not many people have the bravery to actually attempt such feats. However, lucky for us, that we don't need to put our lives in danger because manufacturers have graced us with clothing that is inspired by such perilous journeys. Expedition wear is very utilitarian, favoring usefulness over aesthetics but there's still a bit of design flair added to it. This jacket has a full zip with two patch pockets with flaps on the front to keep your items secure. There are buttons on the top most part of the jacket in order to cover your face from the biting cold of the streets. The hood has a minor brim to it to help out with preventing too much rain or snow from falling into your face as you trudge along through the freezing weather. On the back of the hood there is a small bit of webbed canvas and metal rings. It's inspired from actual expedition wear when those rings held attached ropes for emergencies and various other uses. It's been inspired by expedition wear and the bright yellow helps to alert people to your location should you fall into deep snow. The indigo is dark to absorb sunlight so that you stay warm during the cold day, all in all, this is a one-of-a-kind jacket that you'll never see any where else ever again. Once they're gone, they're gone! There are even patches on the shoulder to reveal that it is expedition wear if the hardware wasn't enough of a hint. We know that you'll love this because we admire this piece, it may not be an exact replica but we wouldn't want it to be. This jacket will go well with any winter clothes, it's made of fleece to keep the warmth in and the cold out, the hood is just an added piece to keep your head warm. So, if you're not willing to go on an expedition then this jacket is definitely for you! We recommend it as it's quite comfortable and will be a nice addition to any wardrobe that already has workwear in it because, let's face it, workwear and expeditions go hand in hand. Now that you know about this lovely little gem, what are you waiting for? An avalanche to fall on top of you? Come on! Pick one up today and add it to your closet! Need one for yourself?
